View schematic Closet Gallery | 3rd floor The Closet Gallery was originally a utility closet. Built during the Khyber's renovations in '98, it sits in a skylit room up on the third floor next to a janitor's sink located before the entrance of the two back studios. These spaces are now Ultramagnetic Recording Studios. Artists Michael Fernandes and Darrin Heaton started curating shows in the Closet and it soon became one of the most intriging sites for site-specific installation and performance work. Frame Gallery | 2nd floor The Frame Gallery is a back-lit display case with a plexiglass front. Perfect for back-lit projects. It was a window from a small room facing onto the main stairwell that had been filled in. The window's original purpose was to let in natural light streaming in from the large skylight framing the main stairwell (pre-electricity days). Skylight Gallery | 2nd/3rd floor The area referred to as the Skylight Gallery is the wall space framing the stairwell from the second to the third floors. A large skylight caps the entire stairwell. An original feature from 1888, it was originally meant to bring light into the interior spaces of the building.
