Kristiina Lahde's exhibit Zero Graph is comprised of collages and an
installation. The work is generated by isolating the large zeros seen
in advertisements and the pages of sales circulars. Connecting the zeros
with a line and extracting them from the advertisements, Lahde's graphs
monitor an economy now detached from any monetary value. In his work Limited
Editions, Craig Leonard excavates the text from antique manuscripts in
a reverse monument to their obsolescence as texts. Both artists use a
process of extracting selected parts form printed material, literally
cutting into and removing words and images from texts.
